The Training and Research Department is a department specifically created to see to the realisation of the Centre’s mission of playing a leading role in the build-up of expertise for effective management of Science, Technology and Innovation as well as engage in policy research, design, evaluation and review.

The department, therefore, primarily anchors policy research and trains middle-to-high level manpower in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) management for all tiers of government and the private sector. It is indeed the hub of all the activities that take place within and outside the Centre.

The department, headed by Dr. A.A. Oyewale, a seasoned academic and an expert in Technology Management and Policy, researches into such areas as entrepreneurship, innovation, energy, environment, intellectual property, information and communication technology, bio-technology, among others. The research focus of the department is tailored towards the realisation of sustainable development in the country.
