TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION AND ENTERPRISE STUDIES

About Us| Organisational Structure | Technology Innovation and Entreprise Studies

Background
The department, formerly called Technology Innovation, was established in 2006. The change of name was as a result of the recommendation from the Retreat held in 2008 for senior members of Staff. The department was set up as a response to the problem of research institutes not translating research findings to marketable goods and services. Hence, the main objective of TIES is to undertake series of activities that will transform invention to innovation and facilitate the development of SMEs. TIES started as a one man team until July 2006 and today is made up six full-time researchers and 3 non-research staff.
