This study aimed to find out the attitudes of Nigerian undergraduate students towards entrepreneurial activities and the factors that influence these attitudes. Data was obtained through a systematic survey of 7560 students and 1260 lecturers from a total of 25 tertiary institutions. Face-to-face interviews were also conducted in some instances. It was found out that there is a huge entrepreneurial interest among Nigerian undergraduates but they are unable to give expression to these interests. Lack of government support and inadequate preparation through training were found as the main factors responsible for the inability of Nigerian undergraduates to express their entrepreneurial interests. It was suggested that government should provide funding to support young and aspiring entrepreneurs, and that every entrepreneurship curriculum should be designed to take cognizance of the students’ areas of strength. It was further suggested that tertiary institutions should facilitate the establishment of facilities where start-up businesses from their institutions can be nurtured to maturity; establish a framework for making students’ projects, especially those in engineering and sciences, demand-driven and establish frameworks for the identification of projects that have market potentials, and assist students in building businesses around them.
