The National Centre for Technology Management in line with her mandates of empowering high level manpower in the field of S&T organized on request, a short-term course for senior staff of the National Agency for Science and Engineering infrastructure (NASENI) titled Research, Development and Innovation Management at the agency's headquarters at the OAU Campus, Ile-Ife. The course commenced on 27 th Nov, with 14 participants drawn from the different centres of NASENI, spread across the country namely; Engineering Materials Development Institute,(EMDI)-Akure, Scientific Equipment Development Institute,(SEDI)-Minna, Hydraulic Equipment Development Institute, (HEDI)-Kano, Nigerian Engineering Design Development Centre, (NEDDC)-Nnewi and NASENI Headquarters, Abuja. Resource persons for the course are experts in the field of Science and Technology Management and have been involved in the policy and practice of technology management for several years.

The course commenced on day one with arrival and registration of the participants, followed by an interactive session with the DG/CEO of NACETEM, who delivered a paper titled Research, Development and Innovation for Wealth Creation in Research Institutes. Days 2 & 3 held the main technical sessions with a total of 9 papers presented. Papers such as ‘Team Building and Organizational Effectiveness by Prof. O. O. Ogunbameru (Prof. of Sociology, OAU Ile-Ife), R&D and Innovation Decision Making in Organisations by Prof. M. O. Ilori (Prof. of Tech. Mgt. OAU, Ile-Ife), Patenting R&D Outcomes: The Legal Framework by Lawyer O. O. Oladele and Best Management Practices for R &D Organisations by Dr. I. A. Oduola (Snr Lecturer Mgt Sciences LAUTECH, Ogbomoso), to mention a few generated interactive and thought-provoking sessions.

The course climaxed on day 4 with another interactive session wherein both participants and resource persons posited that for R&D to achieve better prospects in the nation, it is imperative that the administrative and finance personnel in their respective offices be carried along and called for a general change of attitude in the area of R&D. Participants were thereafter presented with certificates.
