The National Centre for Technology Management was established in 1992 as an agency responsible for the development and management of expertise and policies in areas of Science, Technology and Innovation. This came as a recommendation of the Second Conference of Ministers Responsible for Application of Science & Technology (CASTAFRICA II) to the socio-economic development of Africa held in July, 1987 in Arusha, Tanzania.

11TH NCST ENUGU mandates NACETEM Capacity Building Activities for all Agencies of the FMST and State Ministries of S&T

NEPAD's ASTII: NACETEM Chosen as Nigeria's Implementation Agency
The Federal Ministry of Science & Technology has chosen NACETEM as the implementation agency for the New Partnership for Africa's Development's (NEPAD) continental Africa Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) Project. The pilot phase of the project which will be carried out simultaneously in nineteen African countries Africa hopes to develop internationally acceptable set of indicators that will be used to evaluate the role of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in sustainable development of Africa.
