The National Centre for Technology Management was established in 1992 as an agency responsible for the development and management of expertise and policies in areas of Science, Technology and Innovation. This came as a recommendation of the Second Conference of Ministers Responsible for Application of Science & Technology (CASTAFRICA II) to the socio-economic development of Africa held in July, 1987 in Arusha, Tanzania.

Minister Visits NACETEM, Pledges Support

The Honourable Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Alhassan Bako Zaku visited the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) on Thursday 27th March 2008. The Minister's team was received by the DG/CEO, NACETEM, Dr Willie Siyanbola at the Ile-Ife toll gate of the Ife-Ibadan Expressway before proceeding to the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University . NEPAD's ASTII: NACETEM Chosen as Nigeria's Implementation Agency
The Federal Ministry of Science & Technology has chosen NACETEM as the implementation agency for the New Partnership for Africa's Development's (NEPAD) continental Africa Science, Technology and Innovation Indicators (ASTII) Project. The pilot phase of the project which will be carried out in four African countries: Nigeria, Uganda, Egypt and South Africa hopes to develop internationally acceptable set of indicators that will be used to evaluate the role of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in sustainable development of Africa.
 
NACETEM holds Retreat for Senior Staff
The National Centre for Technology Management in a bold attempt at re-positioning itself as a STI policy tink tank of the Federal Government organised a 3-day retreat for all senior staff at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan between the 14th - 16th, March, 2008. {View all Presentations}
 
NACETEM Recruits 10 new staff
Ten new members of staff have been recruited to join the workforce of the Centre. The staff were recruited from a list of about 1,000 applicants after a rigorous exercise consisting of an aptitude test and an interview. They are expected to strenghten the Centre's resolve to achieving its vision of becoming an international centre of excellence in areas of her core mandates. The new members have since resumed.
